Richard’s professional journey commenced in the Royal Air Force Regiment, where he dedicated himself to safeguarding air assets in volatile regions such as Iraq and Afghanistan. Transitioning to the British Army, Richard joined the esteemed Special Forces Group, executing specialized missions across diverse global terrains. After a distinguished 13-year tenure, Richard retired from the military with a record marked by excellence.
Furthering his expertise, Richard pursued a Master’s Degree in Security and Risk Management, concurrently achieving ‘Professional Member’ status with The Security Institute. During this period, he contributed his skills to various security firms, delivering bespoke protection solutions to discerning private clientele.
As the Founder and Managing Director of W4G Group, Richard channels his extensive experience and insights into leading the company’s Manned Protection, Investigation, and Asset Recovery divisions with precision and dedication.
With over 25 years of experience, Doug boasts a robust technical foundation in Electronic Security and Systems Monitoring. He holds certification as a Technical Security Professional (CTSP), recognised for his capability in technical sales and system design. Doug brings two decades of Directorship leadership from both small business and large corporation.
In his previous role in 2010 as Director at Digi Security Ltd, Doug played a pivotal role in spearheading the company’s rapid European growth, culminating in a strategic acquisition by global giant Chubb Fire & Security. Post-acquisition, he skilfully managed the transition, serving as Director and General Manager until May 2019 before joining W4G.
Currently, Doug as Co-Founder of W4G Group, actively contributes to the expansion of the Fire and Electronic Security Division, showcasing his ongoing commitment to industry leadership and innovation.
With over 17 years of finance expertise, Tim embarked on his career journey in 2006 at an accountancy practice, later transitioning to industry in 2016. At W4G, he assumes a pivotal role in the day-to-day management of company finances and leads the financial team. Tim’s responsibilities extend to overseeing end-to-end finance operations, coupled with conducting comprehensive financial planning and analysis for the business.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Tim finds joy in playing badminton and golf, watching sports, and cherishing moments with his two young daughters.
At 16, Carla embarked on a professional journey that saw her rise from an office junior to head controller within 17 years, showcasing her deep-seated passion for finance. Her career evolution highlights her expertise and dedication to understanding financial complexities. As a multifaceted account assistant at W4G, Carla plays a pivotal role in reducing business debt through her meticulous attention to detail, significantly aiding the team’s accomplishments.
In her role, she provides essential support to the finance manager, facilitating the seamless execution of daily operations. Beyond her professional commitments, Carla’s devotion shines through in her personal life, particularly during weekends spent enthusiastically supporting her son on the rugby field, demonstrating her unwavering support and love.
Oliver joined W4G Fire & Security having completed 19 years as a Police Detective in both the Metropolitan Police and Hertfordshire Constabulary. He has a wealth of knowledge across all types of crime investigation and, as a Detective Inspector, managed numerous Major Crime investigations and other types of Critical Incident to successful conclusion.
Oliver is used to managing multi-team performance and reporting on this to stakeholders and managers, whilst providing performance data to assist understanding. He is very well placed to ensure that specific contract specifications are met and that clients are provided with an excellent quality of service.
As the security operations coordinator at W4G Fire and Security, Georgia brings a wealth of expertise and passion to her role. Her journey into this position began after completing a degree in Emergency Sector Management and Interoperability. Georgia’s academic background has instilled in her a keen interest in the private security sector, recognizing the interconnectedness with her studies.
Central to her responsibilities is fostering teamwork and effective communication, skills she honed through her experience captaining the local ladies rugby team. David serves as the Operations Manager for the Fire & Security division within the esteemed W4G Group. With an extensive career spanning over 15 years in the fire and security industry, David brings a wealth of invaluable experience to his role. His journey has been defined by a steadfast dedication to comprehending the nuances of the field while maintaining a professional yet personable demeanour.
Beyond his professional endeavours, David finds solace in the vibrant atmosphere of live music performances and festivals. Jake is a professional individual who has a decade of experience in the Fire and Security Industry. He has worked in Construction, Retail, Private sector, Public sector, Residential and Healthcare settings where he has been able to build a wealth of knowledge throughout the industry.

Peter Finnie is a Support Desk Technician at W4G Fire & Security, he started with the company in August 2020 and is primarily based in the Exeter head office. He is an IT professional who is logically minded, well-organised with excellent communication skills.
His main duties include providing remote support, commissioning new equipment and technical advice.
Peter has worked in technical support and managing network infrastructures for over 20 years, during that time he qualified as a Microsoft Certified Professional in 2003 and then progressed to become certified as a Microsoft Server Administrator in 2010.
When Peter is not working he enjoys a variety of sports including squash, cycling, table tennis and tennis.
Ben is dedicated to delivering excellence, especially in ensuring customer satisfaction with a strong focus on professionalism and expertise, he aims to enhance all customer interactions within the company. His overall goals are to progress within the security industry and expand his knowledge over all disciplines.
Ben enjoys helping others and is always happy to go out of his way for the team to accomplish all goals using his positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time under the bonnet of a car or testing his off road abilities on his pit bikes.
